God of War III, Suddenly Too Much?

E3 has come to a close, fantastic conferences and fantastic games were shown, in my personal opinion none were more fantastic than God of War III, Sony's behemoth Brutal title stated for a March 2010 release.
By now, we've all seen the insanely gory scene were Kratos gets his deadly hands on the head of Helios, and in the process of tussling and pulling at the thing, it gets ripped off - with blood, dangling flesh and torn veins to boot! Yes the scene is brutal, it's bloody...but it's God of War, I'm surprised at some comments I see around the place:
"It's too bloody and gory".."they've gone too far with this" and the like, NO! they haven't gone to far with anything because this was Santa Monica's goal all along, with the PS2 they could never replicate such gore, but now on the PS3 they finally can, people are missing the point entirely, the game is about the darkest side of Greek Mythology, and what we've seen here is nothing compared to some of the stuff you read about in Greek Mythology, so calm down folks.
Furthermore, the game is rated 'M' for a reason, It's a mature game dealing with mature themes, if you're foolish enough to let your 7 year old son play the game, then you're too foolish to give your opinion about whether it's too violent or not.
In addition, if you are too squeamish to view such things, why not stay well clear of the game? instead of starting petitions or complaining? what you don't like - you might as well avoid, right? I hate the attitude were individuals feel like they should dictate what we play, and we know this all too well with the GTA fiasco's in the past.
And people need to realise this is a God of War title, it's got to be violent, it's got to be bloody, and it's got to be brutal. Or else it just won't be a God of War game, and when you factor in the fact that this will be the concluding rite of the series, surely one would expect the folks over at Santa Monica studios to want to end the series with a bang!
Here's the good part guys, the game isn't finished yet - well so what? you ask, well with the extra months of polish and tweaking to be added to the game, you can expect that scene and all the others to look even 'better' - and by 'better' I mean more gruesome, and another thing to note as well is everyone of those gets progressively worse as the game goes on -- you'll notice the demo started with the gutting of a centaur, then the killing of the chimera which was more brutal, then the removal of the Cyclops's eye, and lastly the demented ripping of Helios' head, yes folks it's getting worse and worse...you can expect to see stuff in the game that would make your stomach churn even more than this head excavation did.
Sorry for the rant guys, just something I'm seeing a lot of lately, I cannot wait for God of War III.
