We’ve previously reported on the sale of
Crystal Palace Station, the virtually constructed space-station that sold for a massive $300,000. Well say what you like about spending that amount of money online the fact is that yes you get taxed for your product but you also get to tax people and goods going through your station, you’re basically making free money on the in-game transportation of goods, bizarre.
Infact David Storey owns “Treasure Island”, he bought it back in 2005 for a a tiny sum, $27,500. However he also get’s hunting and mineral rights and managed to make back his investment in a year.
David Story has bought the much coveted Virtual Egg that was only available on one special task from Jon "NEVERDIE" Jacobs for $69,696.00 who originally bought the end from its original owner for just $10,000. Jon Jacobs is also a big player in the online world. He mortgaged his house, his real house not is online house, to buy an Asteroid for $100,000. He then turned that Asteroid into a Nightclub called NEVERDIE which is apparently valued at 1 million dollars.
All these purchases seem bizarre to me, but in the end you’re still making money on it through some bizarre commerce system but buying an Egg? How could you make money on that? Well this Virtual Egg, is due to hatch. Into what you may ask, well nobody knows and nobody knows what it’ll be worth when it finally does hatch.
