Did you know that 7-Eleven is running a cross-promotion with
God of War III. For purchasing slurpees, you get points that you can register at slurpee.com. Each slurpee nets you a point. Save enough points and you can redeem virtual goodies like a GOWIII T-shirt for your avatar or Dynamic Theme for PS3 or best yet, an exclusive armor for Kratos.
What can be better than that? Well, the catch is the nasty point system that leaves something to be desired. Even a simple hoodie needs 2 points and a T-shirt needs 4 points to be redeemed. That means you need to down 4 slurpees, which may run you a total of somewhere between $5-$12 for the T-shirt. The worst offender is the exclusive
Kratos armor, which needs 10 points, so that means you need to spend $14-30 for a simple character costume.
Seems like a bad deal, considering that they could have awarded fans a special DLC item for each slurpee they bought, rather making them save up points for them. Too bad for such a lame promo.
